Minutes of the Wimberley Computer Club Acting Officers Meeting

July 16, 1998

On Thursday, July 16, 1998, the acting officers of the Wimberley Computer Club met in the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 PM. Individuals present were Acting President, Charles Coe; Acting Vice President of Operations, Don Coleman; Acting Vice President of Programs, Allan Eastwood; Acting Secretary, Susan Springer and Acting Treasurer, Ariana Vincent.

The minutes were read and approved.

It was agreed that we would accept the BYLAWS OF THE WIMBERLEY COMPUTER CLUB.

Allan Eastwood reported that he was still talking with 3M to see what projection equipment was available for us.

Ariana Vincent reported that she is still obtaining information from various banking facilities. She has already ruled out several facilities because of fees or membership requirements.

Charles Coe proposed an agenda for our meetings and suggested that we have some Operating Procedures to supplement our ByLaws. Both were accepted.

Allan Eastwood reported that Rod Hardy was very willing to be our speaker on September 3, 1998, and that the topic was fine. It will be an 30 minute introduction to the Web, a 15 minute Frequently Asked Questions and a 15 minute Questions and Answers. An article for publicity of this program will be written and discussed at the next meeting.

It was decided to have David Harrison, a writer for Current Technology, speak on October 1, 1998, on Windows 98. Jerry MaGee speak on November 5, 1998, and Joe Vesper speak on December 5, 1998, on DOS. Allan Eastwood volunteered to come up with a questionaire to help determine what programs would be planned for the future. The questionaires will be distributed at the first couple of meetings.

Eligibility for door prizes and voting were discussed. It was decided that only one member of family that is paying a family membership dues be eligible for these two privileges.

The next meeting of the Acting Officers will be Thursday, July 30, 1998 in the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 PM.

The meeting broke up about 8:40 PM.

Respectfully Submitted
Susan Springer
