Minutes of the Wimberley Computer Club Acting Officers Meeting

July 30, 1998

On Thursday, July 30, 1998, the acting officers of the Wimberley Computer Club met in the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 PM. Individuals present were Acting President, Charles Coe; Acting Vice President of Operations, Don Coleman; Acting Vice President of Programs, Allan Eastwood; Acting Secretary, Susan Springer; Acting Treasurer, Ariana Vincent; Alma Springer and Dan Coe.

The minutes were read and approved.

Susan Springer mentioned that Article 3.1 and Article 4.2 of the Bylaws reads that the officers' term and the fiscal year begins on January 1 of each year. A motion was made by Allan Eastwood to change the wording from "fiscal" to "calendar". The motion was seconded by Don Coleman. The motion passed unanimously.

It was decided that since most persons would not have an opportunity to pay dues before the first meeting the door prizes would be open to all attendees.

Allan Eastwood reported that he met with representatives at Time Line and the announcement of the first meeting would appear in the Digest of the Wimberley paper and on the billing notice for users of Time Line. Allan also mentioned that he had discussed the possibility of getting space for a WEB page. The WEB page is still pending.

Susan Springer had a demonstration of a WEB page she had been working on. It was decided that she would be the Webmaster.

Charlie Coe mentioned the Operating Procedures. It was decided that the amount of dues, the membership privileges and the fact that the Webmaster would be appointed by the board would be spelled out in the Operating Procedures.

Ariana Vincent described each of the forms required to open a non-profit bank account at Ozona Bank in Wimberley, to become a non-profit organization and to become tax exempt. Immediately following Ariana's presentation the officers paid their dues so that there would be enough money available to accompany the forms for state fees.

Allan Eastwood presented the questionnaire he had developed and said that flyers were being developed. He also reported that there was an LCD Panel available for our use. It was decided that at the first meeting a table would be set up which would contain the questionnaires, the applications and various free literature.

The next meeting will be August 13, 1998, at the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 P.M.

The meeting broke up about 8:30 P.M.

Respectfully Submitted
Susan Springer
