On Thursday, January 21, 1999, the officers of the Wimberley Computer Club met in the Wimberley Village Library at 6:35 PM. Individuals present were President, Charles Coe; Vice President of Operations, Don Coleman; Vice President of Programs, Allan Eastwood; Secretary/Treasurer, Susan Springer; and SIG Coordinator, Curt Busk.
The minutes were read and approved.
The Treasurer's report was read and approved. Current balance is $678.43.
Allan Eastwood announced the speaker for January as David Harrison. The program for February will be some of Danforth Juniour High School students demonstrating their computer talents. The program will be moderated by Suzy Citek. For the program in March we will ask Dr. Marc Gitterle to come back again.
The Hobby Lobby computer program was discussed. They will be giving Wimberley Computer Club members a $5 discount. It was decided that Allan Eastwood would attend one of the classes at club expense so that he can evaluate the instructor for our future needs.
Allan brought the door prizes that he picked up. The club purchased the door prizes and used the rebate forms so that they cost the club nothing.
Curt Busk gave a report of SIGs. There are no new volunteers to head the Beginners groups. Curt also mentioned a new SIG he would like to try to startup. This SIG would be a "grab bag" SIG. There would be no specific topic. Whoever attended could discuss any computer topic they wanted to discuss.
It was mentioned that we should e-mail reminders of the meetings to members. Some members don't have e-mail, therefore, Charlie Coe will ask Barbara Hunter if she will e- mail or phone reminders to the members.
Allan presented a $3.74 bill for making copies of the flyers of the February meeting to be past out at the January meeting. Curt made a motion that we pay the bill. A second was made by Don Coleman. It passed unanimously.
The next meeting of the board will be February 18, 1999, in the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 PM.
The meeting adjourned about 7:50 PM.
