On Wednesday, March 24, 1999, the officers of the Wimberley Computer Club met in the Wimberley Village Library at 3:00 PM. Individuals present were President, Charles Coe; Vice President of Programs, Allan Eastwood; Secretary/Treasurer, Susan Springer; SIG Coordinator, Curt Busk; Publicist, Sylvia Banks and Richard Biggs.
The minutes were read and approved.
The Treasurer's report was read and approved. Current balance is $912.19.
President, Charlie Coe appointed Richard Biggs to the position of Vice President of Operations.
The budget needed to accompany the papers for federal tax exemption was read by the Treasurer. A motion to accept the budget was made by Allan Eastwood, seconded by Richard Biggs, was voted on and passed unanimously.
Allan Eastwood announced that Al Leikis is confirmed to speak at Tuesday's meeting.
Discussion of the Wimberley Computer Club sponsoring a youth group took place. It was decided that Richard Biggs would try to set up a meeting of all necessary individuals.
Allan Eastwood will talk to David Harrison, Jerry McGhee and the Canyon Lake Computer Club to see about a speaker to fully explain the Y2K problem computer users are facing.
Allan also announced that Ken Roberts, a teacher at Wimberley High School, received a grant from the Federal Government and is all prepared to have a class on Microsoft Word. In conjunction with the High School, the Wimberley Computer Club will be sponsoring this class. An announcement at our meeting Tuesday will be made, as well as an announcement on our web page and an article in the Wimberley newspaper. Janice Jackson will be available at our meeting on Tuesday to handle registrations.
Susan Springer announced that Jim Campise of the Canyon Lake Computer Club gave us a random number generator program that will assist us in choosing a door prize winner. We will use it Tuesday at our meeting.
The next meeting of the board will be April 21, 1999, in the Wimberley Village Library at 3:00 PM.
The meeting adjourned about 4:43 PM.
