The seventh meeting of the Wimberley Computer Club took place on March 30, 1999, in the Wimberley Village Library. Forty people signed in.
Charles Coe called the meeting to order at 7:06 PM.
The minutes were read and approved.
The Treasurer's report was given and approved. The balance is $759.64.
Curt Busk gave a report on the Special Interest Groups. We still need volunteers to led the beginners groups.
Allan Eastwood announced that the Wimberley Computer Club in conjunction with the Wimberley Independent School District will present a class for four consecutive Mondays on Microsoft Word. Anyone interested in registering for the class should contact Janice Jackson.
Allan also announced that the meeting in April will be "How to Build and Maintain a Web Page" and will be presented by Jerry McGhee.
Charlie Cole introduced Richard Biggs, our new Vice President of Operations.
Allan Eastwood introduced our speaker for the evening, Al Leikis of Ma and Pa's Computer Store. His presentation is "Everything You Wanted to Know About Hardware".
Following the presentation the door prizes were awarded. The following names were chosen: Caroline Baker, Don Kurtz, Lorene Holmes, Lee and Sandi Epstein, Maxine Stevens, Barbara Hunter, Sally England, Luke Wade, and Charlie and Sharon Coe. The winners were Maxine Stevens, and Charlie and Sharon Coe.
Allan announced that the May meeting presentation would be on "Y2K".
Ken Roberts described the Melissa Virus, what to look for and what to do about it.
The meeting adjourned at 8:43 PM.
