Minutes of the Wimberley Computer Club

May 25, 1999

The ninth meeting of the Wimberley Computer Club took place on May 25, 1999, in the Wimberley Village Library. Fourty-six people signed in.

Charles Coe called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.

The minutes were approved as found on the internet.

The Treasurer's report was given and approved. The balance is $839.29.

Allan Eastwood announced that the Microsoft Word class ended and that there will definitely be another Word class in the fall for those that were not able to get in on this one.

Curt Busk gave a report on the Special Interest Groups (SIG). New beginners groups for Windows 95 and 98 have started. The Internet SIG has about two more meetings before disbanding. There will be a new Internet SIG starting in September. This SIG will start with the basics and continue on.

Allan announced that the meeting in June will be announced at a later date so watch for it on the web page www.wimberleycc.org.

Allan Eastwood introduced our speaker for the evening, Roy Hughes. His presentation is "Y2K - Fact and Fiction". Roy has created a web site at www.java2java.com/y2000. This site explains "Y2K".

Charles Coe announced that we are trying to start a Student organization. He explained that we needed someone to act as a liaison with the school.

Following the presentation the door prizes were awarded. The winner was Barney Watkins.

The meeting adjourned at 8:03 PM.
