The meeting of the Wimberley Computer Club took place on January 25, 2000 in the Wimberley Village Library. Forty people signed in. President, Curt Busk, welcomed the group to the club's meeting at 7:00 PM.
The group voted to move the meeting date from the last Tuesday of each month to the fourth Tuesday and to change the fiscal year to match the calendar year.
An explanation of each of the position on the Operations Board was given.
The Treasurer, Murphy Jordan, gave a treasurer's report of both the annual and the audit. They were both accepted as presented.
Charlie Coe reported for the Education Committee that courses through Austin Community College are being discussed, several new SIGs are under development. One new SIG will start on February 3, 2000, at 10:30 AM - 12 NOON in the Wimberley Village Library. This SIG will be on Building and Maintaining Websites.
Allen Eastwood explained the results of the survey that was accomplished in November.
Curt Busk went through a demonstration of using the Bulletin Board that is on the club's Website. A new category has been added for one month. This category is entitled "CONTEST". If any member posts to this category during the month of February before our meeting, they will be entered in a special drawing that will take place at the meeting.
Allan Eastwood then introduced Ken Roberts, our speaker for the evening. His topic is "Backing Up Your Computer".
Following the presentation the door prize was selected. Charlie Coe won an encyclopedia program and Jack Anderson won a book for Dummies.
The next meeting will be February 22, 2000, in the Wimberley Village Library at 7:00 PM.
The meeting adjourned about 8:40 PM.
