Meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Pres. Albert Sternthal. Also present were: Gordon Dysart, Rod Rose, Curt Busk, Mary Nall, and Bernice Brown.
Minutes of the last Board Meeting were read and approved (with one correction: KAP will let us know if they receive the grant. We do not have to re-apply).
Treasurer's report: last month's balance was $2,889.92. The current balance is $2919.92. Report was accepted as given.
Al made the following request: if officers write a letter which obligates the Club to some action, that it be with Board approval. All agreed that this is the customary way it is done.
OLD BUSINESS:
Al asked for details about the way dues are currently paid. There are 44 currently paid memberships. It was decided that names would be dropped from the Website list of members if dues are not paid within 18 months. It was OK'ed to put a statement on our Website about dues being payable as of January of each year. This statement should also be included in the "Wimberley View" Digest announcement of our meetings.
Secretary confirmed that The Wimberley Computer Club is now included on the "Wimberley Organizations" list, available at the Visitors' Center.
NEW BUSINESS:
Gordon announced that the speaker for the March meeting will be Larry Larkin of Motorola, who will discuss Motorola's plans for the future of the Computer Internet Communications, and other items of interest that Motorola is considering. The April meeting will have Sarah Barlow of IBM as the speaker.
Curt showed a device for adding outlets (for USB - 4 port Hub). He also said he had passed on the information to Don Coleman about receiving gift donations of $25 for the Club.
It was decided that students who register for Windows classes (or others where payment is required) must pay in advance, and will be billed for tuition if they "no show".
At the meeting, there will again be a sign-up sheet for the Internet class to begin in April, on 2nd and 4th Thursdays at the Library. Teachers will include Charlie Coe and Don Coleman.
Rod reminded that the Photography SIG continues today at the Library, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.,including how to install the card reader, and connect to your computer. Glen Fryer will also help show how to adjust photos. Grab Bag SIG is 1st Thursday.
