Meeting was called to order in the Library, at 7:02 p.m. by Vice President Curt Busk (in the absence of Pres. Al Sternthal). There were 31 members present.
Minutes of the February meeting were approved.
Treasurer's report = $2919.92 was accepted.
OLD BUSINESS:
Members were reminded to pay their dues(44 have already paid, 7 more tonight, and approx. 77 have not yet paid).
Curt announced the schedule: 1st Thurs.=Grab Bag; 2nd and 4th Thurs.=SIG (tentatively, Internet class); 3rd Thurs.=Digital Camera SIG. There are sign-up sheets for the Beginners' Class (by Charlie Coe, at KAP school), and Internet class. The Intermediate Windows class is almost completed, and members can sign up for the next class to be scheduled.
NEW BUSINESS:
Curt answered a question about whether or not to upgrade to Windows XP, with the comment: "Do Not". He further explained this advice with several very practical reasons.
Gordon Dysart called our attention to the hand-outs about a newer Mouse (battery operated) and its ease of operation. Gordon gave us a "bad news-good news" announcement. He said that the scheduled speaker, Larry Larkin of Motorola, had cancelled on short notice, but the good news was that Curt Busk will give the program: "How to organize files in the Hard Drive".
Next month's program is tentatively scheduled to be Sarah Barlow from IBM. Details are being worked out, and will be announced later.
Door prize was won by Sylvia Banks.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted
