Minutes of the Wimberley Computer Club

April 23, 2002

Meeting was called to order in the Library, at 7 p.m. by President Al Sternthal. There were 35 members and visitors present.

Minutes of the March meeting were approved.

Treasurer's report = $2956.78 was accepted.

OLD BUSINESS:

Curt Busk announced the Beginner Class (SIG), taught by Charlie Coe is about Windows 98/ME. New computers are equipped with Windows XP,and there have been requests for a class on XP. This type of class is not possible at this time, because there is no access to a public facility having computers with XP, but we are working on the idea. Windows Intermediate Class has 4 names on the list (need minimum of 12). This class will be scheduled in the Fall (to be announced). Internet SIG = 2nd and 4th Thursdays; 3rd Thursday = Digital Camera SIG (next one to be on the basics). The Library has asked that we move the Grab Bag from 1st Thursday to 1st Wednesday (next one to be Wed. May 1st at 1 p.m.).

NEW BUSINESS:

Al reminded that dues were due in January, at $15 per family. Benefits of membership include opportunities to learn, win door prize, and the annual Anniversary Party in September.

Gordon Dysart said that our Speaker, Rhondda Cotten, is running late this evening but will be here soon. The program for next month's meeting will be given by Marsha Yerigan on "How To Make Money on Your Computer".

Rhondda Cotten was introduced, and she presented a very informative program on "The Differences Between Windows XP and Windows 98/ME".

Door prize was won by Albert Rouse.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:27 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted
Bernice Brown
