Meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Vice President Gordon Dysart (in the absence of Pres. Al Sternthal). Also present were Curt Busk, Rod Rose and Bernice Brown. It was determined that we do have a quorum.
Minutes of the July Board Meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer's Report of $3249.14 was read and accepted.
OLD BUSINESS:
September Anniversary celebration was discussed, including: Panel will be Rod Hardy, Ken Roberts and Rhondda Cotten. Gordon will check with K.A. Porter school to arrange for use of their building for this program. Curt has collected 33 door prizes so far, and will add boxes of printer paper to be sure that each member present will receive a door prize. Purchase of refreshments to be served was also discussed.
Gordon asked about the Library's decision about whether or not to be open to the public on Thursdays. Curt had information that although the Library will be open on Thursdays (a/o Sept. 1st.) this will not change our ability to use the facilities for SIG and Grab Bag meetings there. Our regular meeting nights will remain the same also.
Rod said that starting in September, there will a Beginners Digital Photography class at the Library, 3rd Thursdays, from 1 - 2:30 p.m. The Intermediate Digital Photography classes will be at K.A.Porter school (15 have already signed up). Days and times to be announced (probably to continue through next Spring). Grab Bag will continue to be on 1st Thursdays.
NEW BUSINESS:
Gordon announced that the program Tuesday evening will be presented by Mike Bolles, entitled "How To Clean up Your Computer to the Point of Having It Almost Like It Came out of the Box".
