The Board Meeting of the Computer Club of Wimberley was called to order at 10:00am by President Al Sternthal. Members present: Jan Jackson, Al Sternthal, Curt Busk, Gordon Dysart, and Mary Nall. Don Coleman visited.
In the absence of secretary Bernice Brown, the minutes were read by Mary Nall. They were approved as read.
The treasurers report was $3183.95. It was approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. The annual party will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:30pm at the KAPorter school. We are planning for 60 people. Sylvia Banks will bring drinks, punch, tea, and coffee. Gordon is bringing dip and chilps. Al will pick up napkins, cups, plates and two cheesecakes at Sam's on Monday. Mary and Bernice will order sandwiches, wraps, and party trays from Brookshire's and the Central Market and will pick them up on Tuesday. All board members will be at the school at 6 PM to set up for the party.
2. Curt has a class in beginning digital camera today @ 1:00 in the library. Rod is out-of-town and will be back on Oct.4.
3. Jan asked if the pamphlet had ever been made to put in the Visitor's Center. The answer isn "no". No on is sure how to do it. She will get the info together and try to come up with the written material. Al will try to give form to it.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Al wondered if Charlie Coe is still teaching the beginning classes. Curt said he is starting one right away. There are 17 people signed up and Charlie is working with KAP to start a class soon. He will be taking 6 students to work through the backlog. He has some help.
2. Al also asked who Susan Springer is, since she never comes to the Board Meeting. She is our Web Master and she has a night job with the IRS. Consequently, she can't make meetings. We really don't need her presence. Don Coleman said she would like to give up this job, but we don't have anyone to fill it.. Al suggested we as the lady who spoke to us and joined the club to take it on. Curt suggested that Al call her.
3. Curt brought up the fact that it is time to get the nominating committee going. Al will call Moselle Walker and ask her to head it up again.
There was no further business. They meeting was adjourned at 10:35
