Meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by President Al Sternthal. Also present were Curt Busk, Rod Rose, Jan Jackson, Susan Springer, Don Coleman, Gordon Dysart and Bernice Brown.
Minutes of the September Board Meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer was absent, and report will be given later.
OLD BUSINESS:
Al Sternthal said he and his wife would like to donate the portion of refreshments he brought to the Anniversary Party, instead of being reimbursed. Al asked if there was an ongoing Beginners Class now being taught. Answer: yes, Charlie Coe is teaching it.
The possibility of teaching SIG's in the evening was discussed. It was decided that this could be arranged if there were members who wanted to sign up, but they would be in addition to the afternoon classes, not to replace them.
Moselle Walker, Nominating committee chairman, will report later. Please contact her if you have suggestions for nominees.
Board Meeting and Regular Meeting will be in November as usual, but there will be no meetings in December.
Jan reported that our pamphlet for the Visitor's Center is not completed yet, but she is working on it.
Al was contacted by the Hill Country Sun concerning an article they will write about the Wimberley Computer Club.
NEW BUSINESS:
Curt reported that the Canyon Lake Computer Club has rescheduled their Computer Swap meet for November 9, at the Power Co. at Canyon Lake. For further details, see their Website.
Curt asked that we advertise our SIG's more, since there have been fewer attending lately. It is planned to add that information to our regular info which is printed in the Digest portion of the Wimberley View.
There were suggestions that we give $35 gift certificates (to Palmer's Restaurant) to each of our guest speakers. All approved.
Curt asked permission that we offer to donate and to install a cable link to the new Civic Center. All agreed.
Gordon announced that the October meeting will feature Wimberley High School Computer Teacher Ken Roberts and a group of his top students, presenting "Why Kids Know So Much About Computers."
Meeting was adjourned at 10:38 a.m.
Respectfully Submitted
