Meeting was called to order at 10:00am, by President Al Sternthal. Also present were Curt Busk, Rod Rose, Marsha Yearian, and Mary Nall.
Minutes of the November 2002 meeting were read and approved. (There were no minutes for December 2003 as it had been agreed to have only a Xmas Party only.)
Treasurer Report was given by Mary Nall. $9647.00 in bank; however, $2500.00 is set aside for the Civic Center. Note: Al Sternthal had a question about re-imbursements to Curt Busk about the Civic Center.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Al Sternthal: Rooster of all members last published 1-2-2002. We need an update of paid members. Mary Nall will complete a list of who is paid. Dues need to be collected at the January meeting with notification to those who have not paid. Up dates need to be added to the web site by Susan Springer.
2. Al Sternthal: Ad in the newspaper needs to be increased in regularity. Sylvia Banks does the write-up and Marsha Yearian is to notify Sylvia Banks that the ad or posting in the newspaper digest needs to be increased and definitely on the first of each month. Curt Busk would like to see increased visibility for the club.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Curt Busk: Volunteered to update the registration form. Will have available at the next meeting.
2. Al Sternthal: (This might actually be old business as well). Discussion on the need for XP Operating instruction as many newer computers are coming with this system. There is a need for 4-6 computers to have this operating system. Curt Busk indicated that there are 4 laptops not being used for classes. Curt Busk offered to do classes on XP for SIG if there are students who need.
3. Discussion between members of incentive for collection of dues would be participation in door prizes at meetings beginning March 1, 2003 contingent upon dues being paid up. These dues are important for the operation of the club being able to pay trainers occasionally, purchase of door prizes, and the annual Xmas party.
4. Al Sternthal: Need a replacement for historian – will announce at the January meeting.
5. All agreed that a new membership rooster needs to be compiled and newspaper digest articles need to be increased. Marsha Yearian to contact Sylvia Banks to oversee increased ads. Marsha Yearian and Mary Nall to work together to update membership dues collection.
