The Board Meeting of the Wimberley Computer Club was opened at 10:20 AM on October 23, 2003, by Curt Busk in the Wimberley Village Library. Others present were Mary Nall, Cal Neill, Rod Rose, Susan Springer, and Carolyn Swartz.
Treasurer’s report was given by Mary Nall. There is $689.00 in the account with $2,500.00 a money market account which was set aside for the Civic Center.
A report of the SIGs was given by Rod Rose. Digital Photography Beginners meets the 3rd Thursday at 1:00 PM. The Digital Photography Intermediate meets the 2nd Tuesday at 1:00 PM starting on November 11, 2003 and the Grab Bag meets the 1st Thurday at 1:00 PM.
Curt Busk said that we should survey at the next general meeting for any interest in the Internet SIG.
The next general meeting will be on October 28, 2003. It will be our annual party. It was decided that we would have our usual panel type program. The Wimberley Village has been reserved for the meeting and plenty of door prizes have been acquired. Refreshments will be finger-type foods brought by attending individuals. It was decided that 3 gift certificates be purchased to be given as door prizes. We already have one gift certificate from Best Buy. The other three gift certificates will be purchased from Best Buy.
We need volunteers to be officers for next year. We will announce the need at the meeting.
The speaker for our November meeting will be Bill Whitten and the topic will be Viruses and Worms.
Rod Rose will provide the address for the Tip of the Day website.
The need for flyers announcing our meetings was questioned. It was decided that we would survey the meeting population to find out how many actually saw the flyers.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:55 AM.
Respectfully Submitted
