Wimberley Computer Club Minutes
General Meeting 2-28-2006
The meeting was convened at 7:15 with 18 members present.
Treasurers Report: Steve reported that, including memberships paid tonight, we have $1005. He also passed out membership card to all who have paid their dues.
SIG Report: Curt reported that the Beginning Photo SIG has enough requests to begin another session. He will canvass attendees to schedule the best time/date to hld the meeting. The Intermediate Photo and Grab Bag SIGs are continuing on the third Monday and first Thursday respectively.
Curt also passed out copies of UBUNTU, a new free “operating system”, based on LINUX code, to those who wanted to evaluate a LINUX operating system in place of Windows XP.
Election: Rhondda called once again for volunteers for officers. For 2006 the slate so far is Rhondda Cotten for President, Steve Birgel for Treasurer and Curt Busk for Secretary….no one stepped forward for VP and Program Chair. The slate was unanimously approved but we still need a Program person..
Program: Rhondda introduced Michele Schalin who gave a great overview on web page design. After the presentation, and many questions, all agreed that the next meeting should be a step by step instruction on generating a web page.
